Our History
- 1979: SHARE program begun by Milford, NH’s St. Patrick Catholic Church Parish Council when member Mariette Facques initiated a program to support to the needy, with the objective of providing food, clothing, and financial assistance. St. Patrick Church provided an office, a small closet in the parish hall to stock food items, and use of the use of the barn for clothing distribution. Tax exempt status is through the Roman Catholic Diocese of Manchester.
- 1987: The SHARE Pantry was expanded and moved from the closet in the basement of St. Patrick Church to the basement of St. Patrick Center.
- 1992: Mariette Facques was named Citizen of the Year by the Milford Chamber of Commerce in recognition of her work on SHARE. In the process, SHARE was acknowledged as a key program in the community.
- 1992: Governor Judd Gregg awarded SHARE a Certificate of Appreciation for its outstanding contribution to the local community.
- 1996: A Board of Directors is formed.
- 1997: SHARE recognized as Business Leader of the Year (Education/Non-Profit) by Business NH Magazine.
- 1998: Mariette Facques and Carolyn Momenee recognized for their work with SHARE by Knights of Columbus NH State Council Granite Award.
- 2006: Mariette Facques retires as Director
- 2006: SHARE becomes a 501(c)3 and hires its first paid employee.
- 2008: SHARE purchases the former Knights of Columbus Building off Elm Street in Milford. Extensive renovations are made to the back section of the building resulting in office space, a reception area, and food pantry.
- 2009: In January, SHARE moves in to new space at 1 Columbus Avenue, Milford.
- 2009: In June, SHARE officially dedicates new building with Open House.
- 2009: In October, SHARE hires its first Executive Director, Christine Janson
- 2011: SHARE is honored by NH Governor John Lynch for its work with those in need.
